The single tenderer for the Ridgelands Coal Mining Exploration Lease was Xstrata Plc.,
The Ridgelands Coal Mining Exploration Lease was NOT allocated (Fri 13th March 2009),
The Ridgelands Coal Mining Titles are retained by the Director-General, NSW Dept Primary Industries,
The Ridgelands Coal Mining Exploration Lease may be re-offered for exploration and mining by tender and allocated at a future date. This remains a threat.

The Petroleum Exploration Lease Allocated to Sydney Gas (PEL4) remains ACTIVE
Commercial exploitation of coal bed methane gas in the Ridgelands ELA remains a threat.

6/2009 Ridgelands Coal ELA Tender Re-opened

Re-Released Ridgelands Coal ELA document re-offered for exploration and mining by tender (June 2009) by the Director-General, NSW Dept Primary Industries,
The tenderers for the Ridgelands Coal Mining Exploration Lease were Xstrata NSW and BoTai Consortium (Botai Investment Group Co Ltd 70% and Qinhe Energy Group Co Ltd 30%),
Mayor Martin Rush and Muswellbrook Shire Council objected to the tender of Ridgelands ELA on 16 December 2009.
The Ridgelands Coal Mining Exploration Lease REMAINS UNALLOCATED AT 6 Feb 2010,
