Hon George Souris MLA NSW on Tellegra Dam
Hon George Souris MLA NSW on Coal Mining

NP with LP have delayed ALP Mining Amendment Bill overturning Supreme Court interpretation.
Independents & other parliamentary representatives.
Not a lot happening here except Rev Fred Nile (NSW Upper House) who with the Shooters Party (NSW Upper House) recently voted down a Greens Bill to curtail approval for mining on agricultural land and beneath streams and aquifers. If we see anything positive then we will print it and cheer. Otherwise evil doers to be voted OUT.
The Shooters Party will most likely re-align with the ALP or government in power.
The Liberal Party of Australia - NSW & Federal
If we see anything positive then we will print it and cheer. We Remember however that the Liberal Party did fully support the Mining Amendment Bill defeated by Fred Nile & The Shooters.
NP with LP have delayed ALP Mining Amendment Bill overturning Supreme Court interpretation.
The Australian Labor Party - NSW & Federal -
nothing positive to add here. Mr Rudd, Mr Rees and the members bound by the ALP carcass are all pro-mining,, rushing to destroy the land for royalties and up to their necks in it. If we see anything positive then we will print it and cheer. Otherwise they are evil doers to be voted OUT. From CPRS to a Unilateral Nationalisation of Mining Mr KRudd is amok and out of control.
The NSW ALP has .... died.

Local Politics
Muswellbrook Council
Despite a residual tendency to approve all that is coal mining we note of recent times (2009) a changing of the response by Muswellbrook Council to actually investigate the merits of new coal mining and power generation proposals that we will be pleased to print and read. Vigilance is needed lest Muswellbrook Council backslide into its greedy old Environment and Shire neglecting ways and require wholesale councillor/manager/director replacement.
Singleton Council
We note an increasingly progressive response by Singleton Council over a number of years that we will be pleased to print and read. A greater breath of fresh air in Singleton Council that perhaps Muswellbrook Is following.
Upper Hunter Council
Upper Hunter Council has managed to keep the Shire free from open cut mining spoil to date however Bickham Open Cut is pushing for approval to drain the Pages River aquifers.
